Northborough, Massachusetts – August 28, 2016 – GOAL’s “Roll With GOAL – Due PROCESSion” Rolling Rally spanned over 1.5 miles in length on Rt. 95 this morning.

The rolling protest was in response to abusive actions from Attorney General Maura Healey.

This morning the Gun Owners’ Action League (GOAL) of Massachusetts held a rolling protest to publicize abusive actions by Attorney General Maura Healey. The protest started in Billerica and followed south, down Rt. 95 to Rt. 24, ending in Hanson and featured over one hundred vehicles decorated with personal messages of protest and many American flags.

GOAL organized the event with the help of Minuteman Sportsman’s Club, Hanson Rod & Gun Club and numerous volunteer members of the organization.

GOAL’s Executive Director Jim Wallace explained that the protest was in response to actions by Attorney General Healey. “On July 20th Healey launched a campaign of intimidation, fear, and abuse at law abiding gun owners their families, and many family owned businesses throughout Massachusetts.” Wallace continued, “Healey is threatening licensed gun owners with a ten year felony because she decided to interpret decades old law via her enforcement notice.” Wallace also stated, “she is changing the language of that enforcement notice on an almost daily basis. Nothing in the notice matches existing federal or state law, she literally made it up, and continues to do so as she goes along. Yet, the ten-year felony charge remains”.

He continued, “Gun owners are justifiably upset, the attorney general disregarded due process, that’s the crux of the issue, and we have to ask, what and who is next? She has set a dangerous precedent with this action. We hope that others see this for what it is and join us in convincing the legislature to act.”
